Some twerp in an SUV plowed into me while I was riding my bike a few months ago. I've got a broken leg and I'm still using a crutch to walk. Will it still be fun for me to come to the gathering or will I spend the whole time alone in the parking lot? Will there be parts of the camp I can hobble to?
Thanks.

Hi Pamela! (for the sake of others, i'm reposting the same response i emailed you)
Crutchin' around much of the area wouldn't be that big of a problem, depending on your personal ability, though there are a few slopes. we do however intend to keep the majority of the central infrastructure, such as the communal kitchen, distro center, main medics clinic space, etc., up in the very spacious areas not far from the parking. the inner reaches of the gathering, including the river and hotsprings, are unfortunately down a pretty big hill, which is intense coming back up even with fully functional legs. but again, there is plenty of space up top, and that's where a lot of the activity will take place. and it's all pretty much within a half mile area, though there's plenty of space beyond that for folks to spread out. it's maybe 3/4 of a mile to the bottom, where the river is, and another half mile or 3/4 mile upstream to the hotsprings. but that hike on crutches wouldn't be easy.
hope that helps
this is what was in the original call-out from both this year and last:
Due to natural circumstances and the lay of the land (rocky trails on steep hills, etc.), ableism and “disability” may hinder accessibility for some to the inner reaches of the gathering, including the hot springs. This is a reality of the natural world that is beyond our ability or desire to alter or control.
